Terms of Service
Last updated 21 June 2026.
These terms govern your use of Melbourne Kitchen Reno ("the website", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the website you agree to be bound by these terms.
Our role
Melbourne Kitchen Reno is a referral and matching service. We connect homeowners with VBA-registered kitchen renovators in our network. We do not directly carry out building work and we do not hold a building registration.
All kitchen renovation work is carried out by independent registered renovators in our network, who contract with you directly under a written domestic building contract that meets the requirements of the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic) where the contract value requires it.
The matching service
When you submit the form we match you with one or more VBA-registered renovators in our network whose specialisation, suburb and pricing tier fit your project. We take reasonable care in selecting the match but we do not guarantee:
- The availability of any specific renovator in our network at the time you enquire.
- The quality, timeliness, or pricing of the matched renovator's work.
- That the matched renovator will accept your project or that you will accept their quote.
You are not obligated to engage the matched renovator after the free in-home consult.
No fee to homeowners
The matching service is free for homeowners. We do not charge you to submit an enquiry, receive the match, attend the free consult, or receive the fixed-price quote. Renovators in our network may pay us a referral fee on accepted projects; this fee is funded from their own margin and does not affect the price you pay for the renovation work.
Renovator relationship
Once matched, the contractual relationship is between you and the matched renovator, not between you and Melbourne Kitchen Reno. The domestic building contract you sign with the matched renovator governs the scope, price, timeline, warranty terms, dispute-resolution pathway, and all other terms of your renovation.
We are not responsible for the matched renovator's work, conduct, contracts, or compliance. Disputes between you and the matched renovator are resolved directly with the renovator, through Consumer Affairs Victoria or the Victorian Building Authority dispute pathways, or through the courts.
Information accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to keep the cost calculator, service guides, and FAQ content accurate and current. Costs, timelines, regulator references and scheme amounts can change. The matched renovator provides a fixed-price quote based on your specific project; that quote takes precedence over any indicative figure on this website.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the website lawfully and not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent enquiry information.
- Attempt to access or interfere with the website's systems or other users' data.
- Reproduce, copy, or republish website content without written permission.
- Use the website to harass, defame, or solicit any renovator in our network.
Intellectual property
All content on this website (text, images, calculator code, layouts, brand marks) is owned by Melbourne Kitchen Reno or licensed to us. You may share links to our pages but you may not reproduce content without written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Melbourne Kitchen Reno is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or special loss arising from your use of the website, the matching service, or any work performed by a matched renovator. Australian Consumer Law guarantees are not excluded; this limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law.
