Disclaimer

Last updated 21 June 2026.

This page sets out the formal disclaimers and disclosures for Melbourne Kitchen Reno ("the website", "we", "us", "our") covering our role as a referral and matching service, the limitations of the information published here, and the regulatory expectations for residential building work in Victoria.

Service provider network

Melbourne Kitchen Reno operates as a referral and matching service. We connect homeowners with qualified kitchen renovators in our network. We do not directly carry out kitchen renovation work and we do not hold a building registration.

  • All kitchen renovation work is performed by independent VBA-registered renovators in our network.
  • Each renovator maintains their own registration with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) in the relevant class for the domestic building work they carry out.
  • Renovators in our network maintain HIA or Master Builders accreditation along with public liability and the required insurances.
  • We do not guarantee the availability, quality, or pricing of services provided by any renovator in our network.
  • Renovators are responsible for their own compliance with the Building Act 1993 (Vic), the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic), and all other applicable Victorian and federal laws.

Your information

When you submit an enquiry through our website your contact details may be shared with one or more kitchen renovators in our network who can assist with your project. By submitting an enquiry, you consent to being contacted by these renovators. See our privacy policy for the full data-handling terms.

Building work disclaimer

Melbourne Kitchen Reno is not a building contractor or registered builder. We connect homeowners with VBA-registered renovators. All building work is carried out by third-party contractors who hold the required state registration.

Important: The matched renovator's specific registration details, class, and insurance will be provided in writing in the renovator's quote and the resulting domestic building contract before you commit to anything.

We do not provide building or design advice. Any information on this website is general in nature and does not take into account your specific home, scope, or site conditions.

General advice warning

Information on this website is general in nature and should not be relied on as professional advice for your specific home or project. Site conditions, scope, materials and labour costs vary. Always obtain a written quote from a VBA-registered renovator before signing any contract. The information here is current as at the date stated; regulations and scheme amounts change.

Domestic building contract requirement

In Victoria, domestic building work valued over $10,000 must be covered by a written major domestic building contract under the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995. A VBA-registered renovator will provide this in writing as part of the quote. The contract should include the scope of works, the contract price, start and end dates, payment stages, the variations process, warranty terms, and the dispute-resolution pathway. Consumer Affairs Victoria provides a 5-business-day cooling-off period on major domestic building contracts in most circumstances. Confirm the current thresholds at vba.vic.gov.au and cav.vic.gov.au.

Calculator and tool outputs

The cost calculator and other interactive tools on this website produce indicative outputs only based on simplified industry assumptions (published Melbourne kitchen renovation cost guides and the HIA Kitchens and Bathrooms survey base rates). Real prices vary by site conditions, supplier availability and prevailing market conditions. The matched VBA-registered renovator provides a fixed-price quote on a written domestic building contract before any work begins; that quote takes precedence over any indicative figure on this website.

This website contains links to external websites including the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV), Safe Work Australia, the Housing Industry Association (HIA), Master Builders, and others. We are not responsible for the content of these external sites. Their inclusion is for reference only and does not imply endorsement.

Photographs and team imagery

Photographs on this website that depict kitchens, work contexts, or design vignettes are illustrative editorial images. They do not depict specific renovators in our network or specific named clients. Each renovator who contacts you provides their own credentials and identity in writing.

Reviews and testimonials

Customer reviews and testimonials displayed on this website may include sample example entries while real customer reviews are being collected. Sample reviews are clearly captioned as such on the page. We do not display fabricated reviews as if they were real and we do not assert an aggregate rating in our schema markup until real reviews have been collected.
